It’s that time again where I share my #DissertationJourney with you! I submitted Chapters 4 and 5 of my dissertation on last Monday to the Chair of my committee for review. While I am waiting on feedback, I am working on my Oral Defense Presentation Slides and preparing the other sections of my dissertation for final review. The time is nearing for the completion of my Doctoral Studies. So, I am taking time to pause, reflect, and grow.

Most people that know me can easily tell you that I do not like being cold. And I definitely do not like “doing life” during the winter. Things like going to the store, events, gym, church, etc. are frowned upon by me when it is below 60 degrees. I position my mind for hibernation.

“Winter brings a time of solitude—hibernation. Hibernation is time to withdraw, take cover and rest. Winter is the perfect time for us to remove ourselves from the bustle of life we’re used to and retreat into a place in the mind where we consider where we are and refuel. The winter season also offers a time to reflect, which is sometimes seen as solitude. It provides us the opportunity to rest, while seeking out warm places, food, and drinks. Our strength is built during the winter, as we begin to see how much we can endure during this time. Our tenacity is discovered here, and we push through the cold, dark places of thought to see the beauty of winter.” {Excerpt from Seasons of Life: There is a Purpose V2}

My encouragement to you is to embrace this season and take a moment to reflect and rest. Then, take the things you learned from your reflection and take action towards your growth.

As always, I am excited to share my dissertation journey with you. I ask that you share this blog with someone else. We all are going through some type of journey and this might be the encouragement you or that person need to go a litter further. Let’s encounter this life changing experience together!
