It’s the beginning of Week 3 and I am “moving right along” with the progress of the tasks associated with my dissertation. Last Tuesday, I received feedback from the chair of my committee on the problem statement. There was minimal revision requested. I completed it within one hour and submitted it for review. When I received her feedback on Wednesday, my heart danced. It felt good to see her words, “Let’s call this good; Good work!!!!! ONWARD:-)”.
On last week, I submitted my purpose statement and research question. Yesterday, I received feedback and have to do some major revisions. At first, I was a little down about it. Then, I took a deep breath and reached out to my colleague Audrey. She helped me to think through the feedback and come up with a plan for revision. It may have seemed like a setback, however; I take the feedback as tools to help me move onward toward completing my dissertation.
The feedback received yesterday was a chance for me to listen to the perspective of an experienced person. My committee chair person has traveled the dissertation journey before and helped others move down the path. I encourage you to listen to understand others; it will help you to give an appropriate response. The information being communicated to you just might be the vital part for you to move onward to completing a goal.
As always, I am excited to share my dissertation journey with you. I ask that you share this blog with someone else. We all are going through some type of journey and this might be the encouragement you or that person need to go a litter further. Let’s encounter this life changing experience together!
