It’s that time again where I share my #DissertationJourney with you! I have completed the analysis of my collected data. It is very interesting. Now, it is time for me to complete Chapters 4 and 5 of my dissertation. This journey is almost to an end. It is kind of bittersweet at the moment. I remember when I started the doctoral journey immediately after graduating with Master of Arts in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University in May 2012. The process to completing the coursework seemed like forever. Upon starting my dissertation last Spring, the completion of felt as if it was slipping away from my grasp.
As I once stated before: This dissertation journey has been challenging and discovering. Challenging because it provides opportunities for me to move beyond the normal. Discovering because it allows me to uncover things about myself. When most people look at these two words – challenging and discovering – rejection arises because of unspoken adversities that may appear. I look at challenges and discovery as opportunities for me to become greater. These are thought provoking, inspiring, exciting, learning chances to become a greater person.
What challenge is present in your life? Are you ignoring it, or have you embraced it and began to work through it? Ignoring the challenge will not make it go away. It is only when you make the time to acknowledge and embrace the challenge that you will be able to move through it effectively. Embracing the challenge allows for a different perspective to be birthed. This is an opportunity for self-discovery and growth. My encouragement to you is to face the challenge and allow it to develop into the person God created you to be.
As always, I am excited to share my dissertation journey with you. I ask that you share this blog with someone else. We all are going through some type of journey and this might be the encouragement you or that person need to go a litter further. Let’s encounter this life changing experience together!
